Juanita Zendejaz - President Pro-Tempore/President Elect

Juanita first discovered her passion in Activity field when she worked in the Alzheimer’s Community Day Center in the summer as a program to help teens discover their interests in the working field. Later in the years she found herself with the opportunity to work as an Activity Assistant and then was promoted to Activity Director. She has been an Activity Director for 17 years (since 1999). She has been a member of NCCAC and feel with support and education we can continue to enhance the lives of our residents and teach our staff. She was recently honored with being elected as the Activity Director of the Year and feels truly blessed. Juanita is excited to have the position of President Elect for NCCAC and looking forward to making it bigger and better!

Helen Vanderhoof - Director of Membership

 Helen has been an Activity Director for many years in both assisted living and  skilled nursing communities.  She is blissfully retired, enjoying being a grandparent  and still quite active in her  town of Penn Valley, CA.  She is  passionate about  helping seniors and is still  advocates on behalf of the State Activity Coordinators  Council and attends National Activity Director Conferences.

Clint Daluz - Director of Communications

  Clint Daluz graduated from San Sebastián College with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication. Soon after graduating, he began working for the biggest television company in his home country the Philippines. He remained there for 11 years before        moving to the United States. He then went back to school and worked at the  biggest chain of hospitals in the state of Florida, Morton Plant Rehab a Baycare company. He started as a Patient Care Tech and become an Activity Assistant. He then moved to California in 2010. His experience and skills in working with the geriatric population landed him his job at Tampico Terrace Care Center as an Activity Director. He's also a member of NAAP (National Association of Activity Professionals) and currently working on his National Certification, and is planning to go back to school to further enhance his skills.

 

Rose Mary Cervantes - Director of Special Events

  Rose Mary is an Activity Director at English Oak for 9 years. She applied as a volunteer but a per-diem position was available and they offered her the job. At that time of her life she was seeking for something new and rewarding. "I am certain all of you can agree that I am on the correct profession."  She truly believe that the first quality for Activities Director's is "HEART" and for the same reason she accepted the position of Special Events Coordinator. She is looking forward in working with other Activity Diirectors and will help the organization in the best of her capacity. 

Wayne Davis - Director of Education

In 2008 Wayne began working for Summerville senior living as a caregiver. After 1 year he moved to San Diego to seek more opportunities and started working for Sunrise Senior Living as a lead care manager. In this position he grew passion for activities and developed a different approached to the failing activity program in his building. After 4 years at Sunrise in San DIego,he transferred to Sunrise of Scottsdale, Arizona to help them create a new a robust activities program in the memory care neighborhood. After 1 year in Scottsdale, Wayne decided to return to his hometown of Salinas, CA and work for Villa Serra senior living where he started as a caregiver and shortly after became the Activities Director and has been for the past 2 years. he joined NCCAC in October of 2015 and has enjoyed and appreciated the wide range of education, the organization has to offer. Wayne is very excited to be the newly appointed Director of Education and looks forward in serving all members.
